Blue Telusma is a Los Angeles based columnist, social justice advocate, and spiritualist. In 2003, she started her writing career at the Harvard School of Public Health where she and her colleagues created educational curriculums for young adults.
Eventually, she transitioned from academia to digital media. And in 2014 she became a Senior Writer at theGrio.com; an online news source devoted to perspectives that affect and reflect the African-American community.
Her viral think pieces have been read by millions and been featured and cited on HuffPost, Jezebel, USA Today, BET, and several other national news outlets. She’s also made on-air appearances on CNN and Sirius talk radio with Jacque Reid and MSNBC’s Joy-Ann Reid.
Her work mainly focuses on dissecting pop culture, promoting emotional intelligence, and fostering activism through the arts. Over the last decade, she’s developed and facilitated several self-mastery workshops under the moniker “Own Thy Shift”, and executive produced numerous web series and podcasts…. all while gaining a reputation for writing provocative content that sparks dialogue.
Blue was most recently a co-host on Hollywood Unlocked with Jason Lee on Fox Soul, which was then developed into a top-rated syndicated radio show on iHeart Radio in over 70 markets. She just finished her first television pilot, and is currently writing her first book with the hopes of spreading her message of “self-mastery” to an even larger audience.
