With almost half a million followers on IG, my little sis Maryam is a bonafide “Instagram Baddie” but when you look past the big hair and the skimpy bikinis a lot of folks would be surprised to find out how supportive, grounded and spiritual she is. We both have strong feelings about the “body positivity” movement and often laugh about how folks misjudge both of us based on appearances. So when I decided to do my first episode on Influencer culture (and the pushback that “Instagram Models” are skewing the modern-day perception of beauty)…. she was literally the first person to come to mind.
